Yes. However, you have to put brackets (i.e. []) around your number sign. I highly recommend using hashtags. If your post pertains to a hashtag listed in the menu at the top of the screen, you are strongly encouraged to use that hashtag. If you want to know what conventions we use here, see the following (expect your hashtags to be edited if you ignore these conventions; in fact, hashtags may at times be edited into your post even if you didn't add any to start with): • Omit hyphens, apostrophes and spaces. • Capitalization is optional. • Avoid underscores (unless you want it to treat every word delimited by an underscore as if it is its own hashtag). • When using hashtags in an effort to supplement the lack of cross-posting (posting on multiple boards at once) use the same name as the board name, again, keeping in mind the rules above (i.e. #tomato—not #tomatoes). • Make sure your hashtags are pertinent to your posts and threads. • Use hashtags for practical purposes. Note that if your hashtag contains a word, the hashtag for that word will encompass it. So, #cooking is unnecessary if you already have #cookingFrenchFries; note that #cookingFrenchFries does not encompass every post that #cooking might (but #cooking_French_fries does seem to do that). Some hashtags are reserved for special purposes. Those include any that match the name of any board or sub-board (those are used as a supplement for cross-posting), those designed for trades and offers, and potentially others. [HASH]QA
