Sausage has been doing quite well, this year. It's fairly prolific. It tolerates both the air and soil heat (from the black plastic), and the drought (I haven't watered it much) and aridity.
The fruits get to a good size. I haven't had any with blossom end rot (and even a lot of the round tomatoes got BER, this year). The first fruit or two I harvested didn't have much taste, but they had a nice firm texture. However, I tried another one today, and it tasted quite good! I think I will grow it again, after all.
Anyway, this is one of my favorites for 2018.
