When I was a child, one of my favorite treats was frozen peanut butter balls. You only need three ingredients:
• Peanut butter—we had a natural peanut butter when I was a child (where you had to stir the oil in when you first opened it).
• Powdered milk (please do not use the instant kind—you'll regret it; it doesn't dissolve in peanut butter; so, you'll just have peanut butter with a bunch of crunchy prilled powdered milk in it; your powdered milk must actually be a fine powder that blends easily with peanut butter) • Honey
I don't remember the proportions. Just mix them to taste, roll them into balls and freeze them until they're cold and firm or hard. Then eat.
When trying to find out how to make this treat from my childhood, I discovered that nowadays a lot of people try to make extremely fancy peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate with sprinkles and all sorts of stuff—but I think these ones were pretty much perfect as is.
I don't know where the idea to mix these three ingredients and freeze them originated.
