I deep fried for the first time the other day. I made French fries. They turned out great. All I had to do was put them through my French fry machine and boil them in oil until they turned from white to golden or so. I used corn oil for the oil.
I deep fried some banana slices while I was at it. They burn more easily and take very little time to cook. People liked them.
I made more French fries the next day, as well as carrot fries, and deep fried pickled zucchini (don't overcook that; it cooks fast). I used the same oil. The food didn't feel as healthy the second day. I probably overheated the oil for too long. Carrots cook faster than potatoes, too.
