My tzimbalo plant is getting wide fast. It's not getting tall—but wide. I thought it might be pretty small, since the fruits are smaller than pepino melon fruits, and pepino melon plants aren't terribly large; so, I put it in an 18-gallon moving tote with 3 other plants (a pepino melon and two Aji Omnicolor peppers). But, apparently, it grows enough to merit its own container.
The leaves are sensitive to shower pressure, much as watermelon leaves are (so, water it gently).
It doesn't have any fruit, yet, but it's had flowers for a while.
I intend to grow it next year, too.

And it's getting wider. It's almost covering the whole surface of the 18-gallon moving tote. The pepino melon in there should probably be looking nervous. Fortunately, the other plants are growing taller faster than the tzimbalo; so, it may work after all.
