Electric horseradish

Okay, I just finished planting all the horseradish. I think there were eighteen plants (one or two were long and I had to cut them into smaller pieces to fit in the bowl in order to zap them). I put them in three different locations. Hopefully they will all prosper. It was wet and muddy (and it's raining now; it's been a wet early spring—as has historically been the case, but not necessarily recently). Anyway, I'm pretty excited. I want to eat the greens (and of course the horseradish tubers themselves). I also want to lacto-ferment horseradish with some vinegar (mayhap with hot peppers) and see what happens. There were plenty of worms in the soil in a lot of the spots where I was planting the horseradish.

Three of the horseradish plants have sprouted through the ground, and at least one new one is breaking ground. We're planning to dig up one of those plants and give it to a relative tonight (when the wasps are less active).

This, so far, is more successful than the experience where I zapped garlic and directly planted it (but maybe that's because I didn't give the garlic probiotics afterward).
