Transplanted fennel

I planted some fennel last spring in my unheated greenhouse and transplanted it out as an experiment (as opposed to direct-seeding it as people probably usually do). It hardly grew at all the first year, but it stayed alive. Today, I looked at it, and it suddenly had grown a few inches! Maybe it'll get big, this year.

I didn't thin it; so there may be multiple plants. It's growing next to my Purple Vienna kohlrabi.
