So, I was trying to figure out if the white cane sugar we have today is any different from the white cane sugar we had a couple decades ago. You might think sugar is sugar (but keep in mind that I've read that they're not required to list certain things in the ingredients, which they add to sugar and oil, such as enzymes, according to my currently unknown source). I didn't find anything much on that topic, but I found this cool article about sugar cookies: www.tasteofhome.com/collection/the-secret-ingredients-grandma-puts-in-her-sugar-cookies/Of course, love is the secret ingredient that many use. And, don't forget to watch Kung Fu Panda (the first one, although the second and third one are good, too). A secret ingredient prominently features in it. I personally like to stay away from secrets when it comes to cooking. The only real reason I might keep some ingredients secret is so people won't have biases against the food (but only if I feel it's sufficiently ethical); I usually tell people what's in it whether or not I think they'll be biased, though (to teach them how to do it themselves).
