I was just eating yogurt with garden strawberries (Ozark Beauty) and alpine strawberries (Yellow Wonder and Alexandria), and I thought it wasn't sweet enough. So, I added some blue agave sweetener. Then I noticed that it tasted salty (maybe our soil is salty). So, I started researching salty tasting strawberries, and I found an article that talked about adding black pepper to strawberries to make them taste sweeter or better (in a dessert kind of way). I figured, if true, maybe my yogurt would taste less salty. I was out of fresh strawberries to try it on. Anyhow, I mixed some freshly ground black pepper into my yogurt and tasted it. It actually did taste sweeter. I was impressed. It wasn't like a 400% change or anything, though, but it's definitely worth trying. Here's an article that makes a similar claim, but also talks about adding balsamic vinegar for either the same or a similar purpose: www.epicurious.com/expert-advice/why-you-should-add-black-pepper-to-summer-fruit-article[HASH]blackpiper [HASH]flavor
