So, I noticed that some of my alpine strawberries had magnesium deficiency symptoms (yellowing leaves with green veins). I gave nine plants Epsom salt (and then I ran out; so, I didn't have enough to give the other ten in the row). Anyway, some days later when it got quite hot, I noticed that the strawberries without the Epsom salt (even those that didn't show magnesium deficiency symptoms) were wilting and suffering in the heat, while the ones I gave Epsom salt (and a couple next to them or so) looked as chipper as ever.
I have heard that magnesium helps with heat-tolerance, but I guess I've seen it first-hand, now. I should snap a picture of the strawberries. Well, I think watering them does perk the wilting ones up, still (but they wilt again after maybe two days, while the others don't).
